The original Grand Tundra earned a massive following for a simple, compelling reason: it could land on a dinner table and take off from a parking space. Now, Avios has launched the V2 with significant upgrades that directly address every complaint pilots had about the original.

The new model boasts 6S power, a beefed-up tail wheel, pneumatic tundra tires, and a quick-release battery tray. Plus, the striking new green and silver scheme actually looks like something you’d find at a remote backcountry airstrip.

Why STOL Flying Matters

Those 90-degree flaps aren't just for show. They generate massive lift and drag, allowing you to drop into spaces that would turn other planes into lawn darts. The Grand Tundra V2 can practically hover at minimum speed, then transition to normal flight without drama.

Real STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) capability means flying from places other planes can't touch: grass strips, gravel bars, or that empty lot behind the hobby shop. The pneumatic tires and strengthened tail wheel are designed to handle rough terrain that would bend lesser landing gear.

This isn't just about short landings; the STOL configuration gives you crucial options when thermals die or the wind shifts unexpectedly.

6S Power Changes Everything

The move to 6S fundamentally transforms this plane's personality. The SK3 5055-500KV motor paired with the 15x8 glass-filled prop delivers serious thrust. Expect vertical climbs, unlimited aerobatics, and enough power to pull out of any situation.

The Aerostar 80A RVS ESC includes reverse thrust capability, which is useful for backing away from obstacles or just showing off at the field. The reversing function works seamlessly through your standard throttle channel.

While 6S means shorter flight times, it delivers more aggressive performance. You still have the option to run 4S batteries if you prefer longer, more relaxed flights.

Smart Upgrades Throughout

The quick-release battery tray with its spring-loaded latch eliminates fumbling with screws during battery swaps. The use of hex head screws throughout the airframe means you only need one tool for most maintenance.

Switchable LED landing lights add both visibility and scale realism. The improved propeller design offers better efficiency and less vibration than the original.

The included glider tow point opens up new flying opportunities—hook up a sailplane and introduce friends to soaring. The optional FPV cockpit tray also converts this into a fantastic first-person platform.

Built for Adventure

The Grand Tundra V2 handles multiple roles without compromise: sport flying, scale aerobatics, glider towing, FPV missions, or simply demonstrating its unparalleled STOL performance at club events.

The wide flight envelope means new pilots can fly it conservatively, while experienced pilots can explore its aggressive capabilities. It offers stability at slow speeds and performance when you want it.

The PNP (Plug-N-Fly) format gets you flying quickly. The motor, ESC, and servos are all pre-installed. Just add your receiver, battery, and radio system.

What You Need

  • Battery: 6S 3500-5000mAh for full performance, or 4S 4500-6000mAh for longer flights.

  • Radio: A minimum of a six-channel radio is required, though more channels allow you to use all the plane's features.

The battery requirements directly reflect the power system's capabilities. Larger capacity packs extend flight times but add weight, so choose based on your desired flying style.
